KYTC announces resurfacing work on three Madison County routes
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will begin resurfacing operations on three state routes in Madison County starting Wednesday, according to a traffic advisory issued by KYTC District 7.
Flagging operations and resurfacing work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, across KY 499 (Crooksville Road), KY 595 (Poosey Ridge Road) and KY 876 (Barnes Mill Road). The KYTC expects the operations to continue for approximately three weeks.
Initial work is scheduled to begin on KY 595, which runs through Madison County as a north-south route. The resurfacing will occur between mile point 16 at Barnes Mill Road and mile point 17 at Dry Branch Road.
On KY 499 (Crooksville Road), work will extend from mile point 4.6 at Muddy Creek Road to mile point 8 at Brassfield Road/Panola Road. A short segment of KY 876 (Barnes Mill Road) from mile point 0 at Poosey Ridge Road to mile point 0.7 will also receive resurfacing work.
The KYTC reminds motorists to use caution, reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in work zones. Drivers can check GoKY.ky.gov for traffic updates and road conditions.
All work and closures are tentative and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the department's control. KYTC District 7 serves Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
