LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Urban County Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on zoning items at 1:30 p.m. on July 23 in the Council Chamber at the LFUCG Government Center, 200 East Main Street, according to the official meeting agenda.

The commission will consider multiple subdivision and zone change petitions, along with proposed amendments to the comprehensive plan. The agenda includes zoning map amendments that will be addressed through both abbreviated and full public hearings. Abbreviated hearings will apply only to petitions where staff recommends approval, the petitioner agrees with the staff recommendations, and there are no objections.

Among the major items is a preliminary subdivision plan for Lane Allen Park, Lots 2 and 3, located at 1899 Parkers Mill Road in District 10. According to the agenda, the project would subdivide the property into 28 single-family residential lots, a street right-of-way, and one HOA lot. The Subdivision Committee recommended postponement due to questions regarding stormwater detention and roadway intersection improvements.

The commission is also scheduled to consider a zone change request from Mt. Laurel Lands Company for property at 2137 Old Paris Road in District 6. The proposal would rezone 1.12 net acres from Single Family Residential (R-1B) to Wholesale and Warehouse Business (B-4) to establish specialty trade shops with 21 units and 36 proposed parking spaces. Both the Zoning Committee and planning staff have recommended postponement, citing technical issues with notice requirements that must be resolved before the application can proceed.

The commission will also review previous meeting minutes, address any postponement or withdrawal requests, and consider other land subdivision and zoning items on the agenda.
