LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close the northbound right lane on KY 418 (Athens Boonesboro Road) for two days next week to clean drainage structures near Jacobson Park.

The lane closure is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, and Wednesday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. The work will affect KY 418 from mile point 0.0 to mile point 0.2, near the southwestern edge of the 216-acre park.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists to use extra caution in the work zone and to watch for signage and personnel. All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change based on weather, emergencies, or other factors.

KY 418, also known as Athens Boonesboro Road, is a major connector for Lexington and Interstate 75. The road extends roughly 11.7 miles from U.S. 25 and U.S. 421 in southeast Lexington to KY 627 southeast of Boonesborough, serving the Athens community and rural areas of Fayette and Clark counties.
