Road closure extended through June 12 on New Dixville Road
HARRODSBURG, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has extended a road closure on New Dixville Road (KY 1941) in Mercer County through Friday, June 12, according to a KYTC District 7 press release. The closure was originally scheduled to end May 15.
The roadway between mile points 3.0 and 4.0 remains closed daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for road slide repair work. The closure began May 7.
Motorists traveling the area are advised to seek alternate routes, which include Kentucky Routes 152, 422 and 1920, as well as U.S. Route 68. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet recommends checking GoKY.ky.gov for real-time traffic updates and current road conditions.
"All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways," according to the KYTC announcement. Motorists should use caution and watch for signage and personnel in the work area.
The closure is in KYTC District 7, which covers Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
