Road closure set for Beaver Lake Road drainage work
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close a section of KY 749 (Beaver Lake Road) in Anderson County for three days next week to replace a cross drain, the state agency announced Monday.
The road will be closed between mile points 0.0 and 1.2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23; Thursday, April 24; and Monday, April 27, weather permitting. The roadway will reopen to traffic after 2 p.m. each day, according to KYTC District 7.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes during the closure hours and to watch for signage and work zone personnel. Beaver Lake Road provides access to Beaver Lake, a 158-acre reservoir owned by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources that serves as a popular fishing destination in the region.
The project is part of routine drainage maintenance work performed by KYTC. Cross drain replacements are maintenance operations commonly conducted on state roads to improve water management and prevent road damage caused by water accumulation. Similar projects have been scheduled across Kentucky in recent months, with work crews addressing drainage infrastructure at various locations throughout the state.
All work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other unforeseen factors. Motorists can find real-time traffic updates and road condition information at GoKY.ky.gov. KYTC District 7 covers Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
