LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will conduct rolling roadblocks on New Circle Road (KY 4) in Fayette County on June 3 and 4 to repair potholes, according to a traffic advisory released by KYTC District 7.

On Wednesday, June 3, rolling roadblocks will occur from 6:30 p.m. to midnight on the outer loop between mile points 7.2 and 2.0, beginning near Leestown Road and continuing to Harrodsburg Road. The following night, June 4, crews will conduct the same operations on the inner loop between mile points 2.0 and 7.2, starting at Harrodsburg Road and extending to Leestown Road.

Rolling roadblocks will affect travel lanes and ramps throughout the work zone. The Transportation Cabinet will place message boards in advance to alert drivers of the upcoming operations.

Motorists should expect brief delays while traveling through the area and are advised to reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment. Real-time traffic updates are available through GoKY.ky.gov.

The work is part of ongoing maintenance efforts on the heavily traveled 19.3-mile loop, which serves as a critical regional traffic corridor. New Circle Road is currently undergoing a major widening project expected to be completed in 2027, which includes safety improvements such as additional lanes, sidewalks, and sound barrier walls.

All scheduled work and closures are tentative and subject to change due to weather, emergencies, or other unforeseen factors. District 7 serves 12 central Kentucky counties: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford.
