LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists to expect delays on South Broadway (U.S. 68) on June 30 as sewer drainage cleaning work requires temporary lane closures in the South Broadway and Virginia Avenue area.

Work is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. The inbound right lane on South Broadway at Virginia Avenue will be closed, along with the right-turn lane from Virginia Avenue onto the highway, according to a traffic advisory from KYTC District 7.

Motorists should exercise caution through the work zone, watch for signage and personnel, and expect possible delays, the cabinet said. The sewer drainage cleaning project is part of ongoing maintenance work by the city and state to ensure proper drainage infrastructure operation.

KYTC District 7 oversees highway construction and maintenance in 12 central Kentucky counties, including Fayette, Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford.
