Sophomore Cole Stockard fired consecutive rounds of 1-under par to lead Kentucky men's golf through 36 holes on the opening day of the Visit Knox Collegiate, a 54-hole tournament hosted at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee. Stockard's 2-under performance through two rounds has him tied for 18th among a field of 96 players and marks an impressive start to the Wildcats' 2026-27 season.

The Kentucky squad finished the opening day 12-over par as a team, carding matching 6-over rounds in both sessions to sit in 17th place after 36 holes. The Wildcats will complete the tournament with 18 holes remaining on Tuesday. Stockard, a native of Dalton, Georgia, led the team with seven birdies on the day.

Junior Gavin Clutts posted consecutive rounds of 71 to tie for 44th, recording 31 total pars that matched the best total in the field. Jacob Settles carded rounds of 73 and 72 to sit at 5-over par and tie for 63rd, while senior Luke Coyle, competing as an individual, matched Settles' 5-over total with an opening 75 followed by an even-par 70.

Gabriel Hull, making his Kentucky debut after transferring from Emmanuel University, finds himself tied for 80th at 8-over par, while Jacob Lang sits tied for 92nd at 12-over. The Wildcats won twice during the 2025-26 season, the first time with multiple team wins since 2017-18, and earned an NCAA Regional appearance last spring under head coach Gator Todd.

Chattanooga holds the lead after day one at 8-under par, with the Mocs' Evan Rogers posting the individual best at 6-under. Kentucky will return to action Tuesday from hole No. 10, grouped with Indiana, Louisville and Virginia Tech with tee times beginning at 9:49 a.m.
