LEXINGTON, Ky. — Woodland Art Fair, marking a half-century milestone, returns to Woodland Park this weekend with nearly 200 artists, live music and food from across the nation. The free cultural event runs Saturday, August 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, August 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the historic park at 601 E. High Street.

Mayor Linda Gorton joined city officials, partners and community members at the park earlier this week to commemorate the occasion. "For 50 years, Lexington has welcomed artists to this beautiful, historic park in the heart of our city," Gorton said. "This event is a homecoming for many, and an annual gathering to run into friends and build community."

The fair, presented by Lexington Parks & Recreation in partnership with Lexington Art League, consistently draws more than 70,000 visitors. Artists will showcase work in ceramics, wood, jewelry, painting, metal, fiber, mixed media and photography, with patrons enjoying live entertainment, food trucks, local breweries and vineyards throughout the weekend.

District 3 Councilmember Tom Eblen, whose district includes the park, encouraged community attendance. "The Woodland Art Fair is one of Lexington's best annual events, showcasing the diverse talents of local artists in one of our city's most beautiful parks," he said.

The fair's national recognition spans multiple accolades. It has been voted a Top 100 Fine Art & Design Fair by Sunshine Artist Magazine, reaching as high as the Top 20, and was named a Top 10 festival by the Kentucky Travel Industry Association and a Top 20 event by the Southeast Tourism Society.

Monica Conrad, director of Lexington Parks & Recreation, said the event remains a community cornerstone. "Our team works hard to provide a fun mix of activities for all to enjoy. Whether you come for the art, the music, the food and drinks, or to visit with friends, we hope you'll take in all this amazing event has to offer."
