LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Budget, Finance and Economic Development Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday at 1 p.m. to discuss half a dozen topics ranging from infrastructure funding to emergency services financing, according to the published agenda.

The committee's primary focus will include an update on the Infrastructure Funding Plan, which relates to how Lexington allocates capital resources for public works projects. The agenda also includes a monthly financial review covering May 2026 results.

Notably, the committee will hear a presentation on a Technology Ecosystem Development initiative that would include a tech internship pilot program. The BFED Committee develops and reviews policies related to fiscal operations, capital projects, and revenues affecting the city. A tech internship program could support Lexington's growing technology sector, which includes major employers and growing startups in the region.

The committee will also examine E911 fund revenue sources. Lexington's Enhanced 911 division provides emergency communications services, and discussions about fund sources would address how the system is financed going forward.

Additional agenda items include approval of meeting minutes from March 24, a review of items previously referred to the committee, and committee adjournment. The meeting is open to the public and will take place in the Council Chamber at 200 E. Main St.
