ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced the beginning of the second phase of a concrete intersection improvement project on U.S. 127B and U.S. 62 that will prompt significant lane closures over the next two weeks.

The project, located on U.S. 127B between mile points 3.20 and 3.27 at the U.S. 62 intersection, also known as Fox Creek Road, will close two lanes in each direction during all operations, according to a KYTC press release.

From June 21 through June 27, beginning at 6:30 p.m., the northbound U.S. 127B slow lane and right-turn lane will be closed. During the same period, the U.S. 62 eastbound left-turn lane and through lane will also be closed as crews complete concrete approach work.

The second phase of closures is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on June 28 and continue through July 3. During this phase, the northbound U.S. 127B fast lane and left-turn lane will be closed while crews finish remaining concrete approach work. All lanes are expected to reopen by July 3.

The KYTC noted that all work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other unforeseen factors. Motorists can monitor traffic conditions using GoKY or Waze on their smartphones.

KYTC District 7 oversees 12 central Kentucky counties, including Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford.
