LEXINGTON, Ky. — Fayette County Public Schools saluted Henry Clay High School's graduating Class of 2026 on June 4 with a commencement ceremony at Rupp Arena, marking another milestone for the storied institution.
The Henry Clay commencement was part of a larger Fayette County Public Schools graduation schedule, which held ceremonies at Rupp Arena on June 4 and June 5 across six district high schools. Frederick Douglass and Lafayette high schools held their ceremonies earlier and later that day, respectively.
Henry Clay High School, named in honor of Kentucky statesman Henry Clay, originally opened on Main Street in 1928 before relocating to its current Fontaine Road campus in 1970. The school is ranked 30th in Kentucky and serves approximately 1,990 students in grades 9-12.
The school offers Advanced Placement coursework, with 43 percent of students participating in AP courses. In recent announcements, the school noted that over 250 graduates earned the 2026 Seal of Biliteracy for exemplary language skills.
