KYTC Advises of Lane Closures on KY 52 in Garrard County
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is warning drivers to expect alternating lane closures on KY 52 (Richmond Road) in Garrard County beginning Monday as crews begin a resurfacing project on the rural eastern Kentucky route, according to KYTC District 7 Press Releases.
Starting July 20, weather permitting, crews will resurface a 2-mile section of Richmond Road from mile point 11.36 near Hensley Lane to mile point 13.3 near KY 954/Cartersville Road. The project is expected to take approximately one week, with daily work scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Motorists should expect alternating lane closures in each direction during working hours and are advised to use extra caution while traveling through the work zone, watching for signage and equipment operators. The KYTC cautioned that all work and closures are tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Garrard County, located just south of Lexington, is home to more than 16,900 residents and serves as a regional connection point for the central Bluegrass area. KY 52, also known as Richmond Road, is an important east-west route connecting rural communities and surrounding areas.
