KYTC announces nighttime closure on McCracken Pike for drainage repairs
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close a section of KY 1659 (McCracken Pike) in Woodford County on Aug. 27 for cross drain repair operations, according to a KYTC District 7 press release.
The closure will remain in effect between mile points 3.0 and 4.5 from 4 p.m. to midnight, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to use KY 1685 (Steele Road) as an alternate route during the scheduled work.
McCracken Pike is a critical regional thoroughfare in the Bluegrass region, connecting several major attractions including Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles. The scenic route is also popular with cyclists and motorcyclists traveling through historic Woodford County.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet noted that all work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and may be subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other unforeseen factors. Motorists are encouraged to exercise extra caution and plan alternate routes during the closure period.
