LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced intermittent lane closures scheduled on U.S. 60 (Versailles Road) as the agency installs equipment for a new traffic signal and overhead warning flasher.

Beginning Monday night, July 27, KYTC District 7 will conduct the work between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the inbound lanes near the Kentucky 4 (New Circle Road) ramp, between mile points 4.4 and 4.5, weather permitting.

"The lane closures are necessary to install overhead lines for a new traffic signal and overhead warning flasher," according to the agency announcement.

Motorists should anticipate brief delays during overnight hours and are urged to use extra caution, slow down, and watch for signage and work personnel in the construction zone. The closures will be intermittent rather than continuous throughout the closure window.

GoKY and Waze are available for real-time traffic navigation information during the work period.

U.S. 60 is a major corridor through Fayette County and Lexington, serving as a vital link that passes near Blue Grass Airport before intersecting the beltway at New Circle Road. The area has seen increased traffic with new commercial development in recent years.

All work and closures remain on a tentative basis and are subject to change due to weather, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond the department's control. KYTC District 7 oversees maintenance and operations for Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
