LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close the right lane on U.S. 68 (Harrodsburg Road) in Fayette County on Monday, July 27, for routine storm drain maintenance.

The outbound right lane at Fort Harrods Drive, located at mile point 2.4, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weather permitting, according to a KYTC press release. The right-turn lane from Fort Harrods Drive onto outbound U.S. 68 will also be closed during the work.

The closures will allow crews to safely clean storm drains along the roadway. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet periodically schedules drain and ditch cleaning as part of routine highway maintenance to ensure proper water drainage and roadway safety.

Motorists traveling through the work zone should use extra caution and watch for signage and personnel in the area. The KYTC noted that all work schedules are tentative and subject to change due to weather, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.
