LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is advising motorists of mowing operations this morning on New Circle Road (KY 4), the 19.3-mile inner beltway that circles the city. Work is scheduled between 10 a.m. and noon along the inner loop cable barrier, according to a KYTC District 7 press release.

The mowing operations will extend from mile point 4.6 at Versailles Road to mile point 14.8 at Richmond Road. The work will be conducted as a mobile operation in the fast lane, requiring motorists to exercise caution and watch for road crews.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 7 office oversees highway construction and maintenance across twelve central Kentucky counties, including Fayette County. According to the agency, staff coordinate all aspects of road maintenance, from design and construction to pothole patching and mowing operations.

All work and closures are scheduled tentatively and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors, the KYTC stated. Motorists experiencing delays are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible.

The mowing comes as the region continues significant transportation improvements. Earlier this year, KYTC completed street sweeping operations on New Circle Road as part of ongoing maintenance efforts to keep the heavily-traveled corridor in serviceable condition.
