LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will conduct pavement preservation work on U.S. 60 (Winchester Road) in Montgomery County beginning on Monday, according to a press release from KYTC District 7.

Crews will perform overband crack sealing operations between mile points 1.7 and 3.4, roughly from one-quarter mile west of Bent Brook Road to Westside Drive. Alternating lane closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

The work is part of the state's routine pavement preservation efforts designed to extend the service life of roadways. Crack sealing is a preventative maintenance technique that prevents moisture from infiltrating the pavement structure, helping avoid pothole formation and other deterioration that can result from water damage.

Motorists are advised to use extra caution in the work zone and watch for traffic signage and personnel. All work and closures remain tentative and subject to change depending on weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.
