NASSAU, The Bahamas — No. 3 Kentucky volleyball closed out the Paradise Invitational with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Houston on Sunday, defeating the Cougars 25-13, 25-19, 25-23 at BahaMar Resort and Convention Center, according to UK Athletics.

Lizzie Carr was the standout performer for the Wildcats, recording eight kills with just one error on 11 swings for a .636 hitting percentage. Carr also led the team with five stuff blocks as Kentucky dominated the net, outblocking Houston 12-6 overall. Morgan Gaerte added nine kills on 21 swings for the Wildcats, who hit .274 as a team.

The match featured an unusual first set when a power outage across Nassau lasted more than 30 minutes, interrupting play. Despite the disruption, Kentucky won that opening set decisively, hitting .333 while holding Houston to a negative hitting percentage. The Wildcats built a commanding 22-10 lead before closing out the set 25-13.

The second set saw Kentucky expand its advantage, winning 25-19 behind strong play from Brooklyn DeLeye, who recorded two aces. Kassie O'Brien orchestrated the offense with 27 assists for the match, while Molly Tuozzo led floor defense with nine digs.

The third set proved competitive throughout, with Houston taking a 23-20 lead late in the match. Kentucky responded with five consecutive points to secure the sweep and close out the invitational undefeated.

The Wildcats will next face No. 5 Louisville on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET in a matchup that will air live on ABC from Memorial Coliseum. Tickets are limited and the match is nearing a sellout, UK Athletics said.
