The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled a daytime closure on Kentucky 1688 (Woodlake Road) in Scott County for cross drain repairs on Aug. 6, according to a press release from KYTC District 7.

The road will be closed at mile point 0.3 near the Franklin County line from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. The closure will affect motorists traveling on the state route, which connects into Franklin County.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists to use alternate routes during the closure. GoKY.ky.gov and the Waze navigation app are available to help drivers find alternate routes around the work zone.

Suggested detours include Kentucky 3378 (Pea Ridge Road) and Kentucky 1262 (Jones Lane), according to the Cabinet. Motorists are urged to use extra caution and watch for signage and personnel in the work area.

The Kentucky Department of Highways District 7 oversees construction and maintenance of highways across 12 central Kentucky counties, including Scott, as well as Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery and Woodford counties.

The Cabinet noted that all work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances.
