
Tates Creek celebrates Class of 2026 at graduation ceremony
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Fayette County Public Schools honored Tates Creek High School's graduating seniors on June 5, marking one of six graduation ceremonies held across the district this week.
Tates Creek High School's Class of 2026 included more than 250 graduates who earned the Seal of Biliteracy, a credential recognizing exemplary language proficiency. The ceremony, held at Rupp Arena, began at 10 a.m., showcasing the accomplishments of students from one of six high schools in the Fayette County Public Schools district.
Located at 1111 Centre Parkway, Tates Creek serves about 1,700 students in grades 9-12 and operates as a magnet school offering Advanced Placement courses, International Baccalaureate programming, and career pathways. The school recently received recognition with a staff member earning the 2026 KEA Teacher of the Year award, highlighting the dedication of educators within the program.
The milestone comes as Fayette County Public Schools concluded its school year on June 3. Throughout the week, additional ceremonies for Frederick Douglass, Henry Clay, Lafayette, Bryan Station, and Paul Laurence Dunbar high schools were held June 4 and 5.
