UK Athletics Unveils Fan Experience Upgrades for 2026 Football Season
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky announced a comprehensive series of fan-focused enhancements to Kroger Field for the 2026 season, with initiatives spanning concession pricing, technology upgrades and in-stadium programming designed to improve the game-day experience and strengthen the Wildcats' home-field advantage.
The enhancements, developed in response to fan feedback, include lower prices on select concession items, new food options featuring local favorites, and a transition to cashless transactions. Hot dogs will drop from $5 to $3, and domestic canned beer will fall from $10 to $5, with reductions of up to 50 percent on some items. The improvements come through UK's Enterprise Services Partnership with Compass Group, which will also introduce two new "Just Walk Out" concession locations featuring Amazon technology to reduce wait times.
"Big Blue Nation's passion is one of Kentucky's greatest strengths," said UK Athletics Director J Batt. "We want to continue investing in an experience that rewards our fans' commitment, creates lasting memories and helps generate the energy and atmosphere that positively impacts our team."
New in-stadium enhancements include a redesigned team introduction sequence as part of an expanded pregame experience, the addition of new game-day host Ohavia Phillips, and game-by-game fan themes to boost engagement. UK students will gain the ability to use meal plan swipes as concession exchanges at select locations near the student section at Gates 1 and 14.
The announcement comes as new head coach Will Stein, a native Kentuckian hired in December, begins his first season leading the program. Stain replaced Mark Stoops, who departed following consecutive losing seasons. Additional capital improvements announced earlier this year included $25 million in longer-term stadium upgrades, part of UK's strategic plan to remain competitive in college athletics.
"The energy our fans bring to Kroger Field has a direct impact on the game," Stein said. "We're excited to celebrate the traditions that make Kentucky Football special while creating new ones along the way."
