LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky wide receiver Nic Anderson has been named to the watch list for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, which recognizes college football's top offensive player who exhibits integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship and tenacity, according to an announcement from UK Athletics.

Anderson, a 6-foot-4, 208-pound senior transfer from LSU, brings a notable pedigree to the Kentucky offense under first-year head coach Will Stein. The Katy, Texas native was a breakout performer as a redshirt freshman at Oklahoma in 2023, when he set a school freshman record with 10 receiving touchdowns while averaging more than 16 yards per reception across 31 receptions for 798 yards.

The award, which requires candidates to have attended or currently play at a Texas college, recognizes players who embody the legacy of Hall of Famer Earl Campbell, the legendary running back from Tyler, Texas. Previous winners have included Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray, while Georgia Tech's Haynes King won in 2025.

Anderson has experienced a tumultuous path since his standout 2023 season. A quad injury limited him to just one game in 2024 at Oklahoma before he transferred to LSU, where injuries and competition in a loaded receiver room restricted him to 12 receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns across 10 games in 2025. He entered the portal in January and quickly committed to Kentucky.

The senior will look to recapture early form in Lexington. Kentucky opens its 2026 season against Youngstown State on Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. ET at Kroger Field, with the game airing live on SEC Network+. The Earl Campbell award's final winner will be announced in December and celebrated at the banquet scheduled for Jan. 27, 2027, in Tyler, Texas.
