The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that a resurfacing project on U.S. 25 (Robert Martin Bypass) in Madison County is expected to begin soon, weather permitting. The project was originally scheduled to begin earlier but has been delayed due to emergency flood recovery efforts in the region, the state agency said.

Traffic control devices may already be in place along the corridor. The project extends from KY 52 (Irvine Road) at mile point 16.1 to just south of KY 1156 (Jacks Creek Road) at mile point 20.8. Motorists should expect nightly lane closures between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. once work begins.

The project includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, as well as construction of a second left-turn lane from U.S. 25 (Robert Martin Bypass) onto KY 52 (Irvine Road). The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet expects to complete the work by August 31, 2026.

The delay came as Madison County dealt with deadly flooding that struck the area in late June. The flash flooding killed three people in Madison County and prompted widespread emergency response and recovery efforts across the region. The emergency work contributed to the push-back of the resurfacing timeline.
