KYTC scheduling rolling roadblocks on I-75 in Scott County for pothole repairs
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will conduct rolling roadblock operations on Interstate 75 in Scott County on consecutive days next week to repair potholes along a 22-mile stretch of roadway.
The mobile operations are scheduled for Monday, July 13, on I-75 northbound from mile point 120 to mile point 142 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and Tuesday, July 14, on I-75 southbound from mile point 142 to mile point 120 during the same hours. All work is weather permitting.
Rolling roadblocks temporarily slow or stop traffic to allow crews a safe work zone for repairs. Motorists should expect delays and use extra caution while traveling through the work zone, according to the advisory. The transportation cabinet emphasizes that all work and closures are scheduled tentatively and subject to change due to weather, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.
This maintenance project is part of ongoing efforts by KYTC District 7, which covers 12 counties in the Lexington region including Fayette, Jessamine, Madison, and Scott counties. The district has conducted similar pothole repair operations throughout central Kentucky in recent months to address road safety concerns.
For real-time traffic information and alternate routes, motorists can consult GoKY or use navigation apps like Waze for live traffic updates. The transportation cabinet advises drivers to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during the scheduled maintenance windows.
