LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that the off-ramp from I-75 northbound to Paris Pike (Exit 113) will close overnight Tuesday for final surfacing work as part of the ongoing I-75 widening project.

The closure begins at 7 p.m. and will last until 6 a.m. Wednesday, with motorists advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes. Drivers heading to Paris Pike can detour to Exit 110 using Winchester Road (U.S. 60) to New Circle Road (KY 4) to Paris Pike (U.S. 68), or exit at Exit 115 and take Newtown Pike (KY 922) to New Circle Road to Paris Pike.

The temporary closure allows contractors to complete final surfacing work on the ramp. The broader I-75 widening project spans a 2.3-mile corridor from Paris Pike to the I-75/I-64 Southern Split and is expected to be completed in 2026. The $89 million initiative will widen the interstate from three to four lanes in each direction, adding a new median barrier wall, sound walls and completing bridge deck repairs.

The project is part of "Driving Lexington Progress," a broader $170 million Kentucky Transportation Cabinet effort to improve safety and reduce congestion on I-75/I-64, New Circle Road and other corridors in the growing region. Officials said lane additions are on track for completion by October.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet noted that all work and closures are scheduled tentatively and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other unforeseen factors. Drivers can track traffic conditions through GoKY or Waze.
